We’re a family owned Charlotte-area lawn care and landscaping company serving residential property owners in Matthews, Mint Hill, Weddington, NC, and other nearby areas. Our company has deep roots in North Carolina where President Tony D. Hyatt grew up and started landscaping at an early age, experiencing firsthand the satisfaction of a job well done. Meet The Team

TONY D. HYATT

PRESIDENT

As a small child, Tony used to visit his cousins in a small rural farming town in eastern NC.  He would watch them jump on Farmall tractors and drive around like it was second nature.  Despite being similar in age, he was never given the approval to drive himself, mainly because of inexperience and unfamiliarity with the machine.  In 1980, when Tony decided to start his own business, he went out and traded his first car for a tractor!  From there, he began to form what is now Hyatt Landscaping, Inc.  The level of professionalism and commitment that was nurtured in the early days of the company are still prevalent in all facets of the company today.  His fascination with tractors and machines has allowed him to become a master operator on many different types of equipment.  For years he has worked closely with residential customers and home builders to create beautiful landscapes that have stood the test of time.  During those years, he was able to realize the importance of proper grading and drainage, which has made him an expert in custom drainage solutions.  For over 30 years, Tony has learned first hand how to install beautiful landscaping projects.

JOSHUA C. HYATT

VICE PRESIDENT

Growing up in a family where his father owned a landscaping company gave Josh a familiarity with the industry at an early age.  He used to love riding on tractors and in dump trucks as a kid.  As he grew older, what was once a playground became an automatic summer job.  This taught him to have a good work ethic and began to unknowingly prepare him for what would ultimately become his career.  After high school, Josh went on to NC State where he studied Landscape Design and minored in Spanish.  In addition to the classroom education, he was able to participate in a couple of internship programs as well as complete a study abroad course in Valencia, Spain.  After college, Josh returned home and began working at Hyatt Landscaping, Inc.  Since then he has had the opportunity to work directly under the experienced leadership of his father.  Josh has developed a passion for many specific aspects of the industry which gives him a unique position in the business.

CECIL K. DEAN

SALES & OPERATIONS MANAGER

For over 30 years, Cecil has worked in nearly every aspect of the green industry.  Cecil began studying horticulture in high school and went on to attend classes in the Landscape Construction Curriculum at Sandhills Community College.  He has had the opportunity to work for different landscape companies in various locations including Fayetteville, Raleigh, DC, Memphis and Charleston.  About 17 years ago Cecil made Charlotte, NC his home and has since helped hundreds of customers with their landscaping needs.  Having worked with many of the top landscape companies on the East Coast, Cecil’s extensive knowledge of the landscape profession gives him a unique perspective when it comes to helping clients realize their dreams.  From design and installation for new construction to renovations and additions in the existing landscape, Cecil has a wealth of experience.

Josh Sells

Horticultural Sales & Service Coordinator

Josh graduated from NC State in 2010 with Associates Degrees in Turfgrass Management, Ornamentals and Landscape Technology, and Agribusiness Management!  Throughout his career, Josh has been directly involved in all aspects of the green industry.  His experience with landscape maintenance and turf care allows him to properly evaluate and derive effective solutions for common issues and concerns in the landscape.

Eric Zackaroff

Designer

Eric moved to the Charlotte Metro Area in 1996 from Staten Island New York where he worked as a crew leader at a NY landscape company.  He has since worked for numerous landscape construction and design-build firms in the area, helping to design and manage many projects utilizing his management and architectural design skills.  His passion for the green industry helps fuel a desire to educate customers throughout the design process, culminating in a unique and creative solution for their landscaping needs.
